Letters from a young journalist.

Howdy. I’m Jess, I’m 21 years old, and I just started my senior year at a small liberal arts college in the South. I’m originally from the Northwest (Portland, OR area), but a summer in Washington, DC and an excellent journalism school drew me out east.

I’m still a baby journalist. So far, I’ve learned that essential things I need are: preparedness, persistence, and care for your audience, and I’m still learning.

I’ve had other blogs, but they are lame and childish. I promise to be more grown up.

PS: I’m not without my vices. I spend way too much time on Twitter and Facebook.
